Chicks helping with the garden

We have been tilling up some new garden plots for this year's garden. The girls like to search for worms and grubs to feed the chicks.

Until they decided to search for some themselves.

and they had a look-see through the compost pile as well...

::Mothers Day 2011::

For Mothers Day this year, I wanted to check out the newest of our county parks for the first time. Georgia had been there to help clear it out and get it ready for opening for one of her Junior Naturalist classes, but the rest of us hadn't seen it yet.  So we were lucky enough that she was able to be our own personal tour guide!

Molly came with us, of course.

Georgia found a snail.  She's good at finding them anywhere!

Olivia took photos of the abundant woodland wildflowers.

Quick pose for a Mothers Day photo...

Found some salamanders...

Always put them back where you found them!

looking for more...

 We decided salamanders are cool, lol.

They grow up so fast...

Tomatoes.
They want to get outside ASAP!

Chicks in the Coop

The chicks are getting comfortable in their "new" coop.  We converted a part of the barn for their new home. We still need to make a ladder perch and put up the nest boxes. In the mean time we have added some limbs that a storm helped procure for us.

They are four weeks old now!
