Oleg needed the loan to buy eggs for his egg-hatching business.

Olivia went to a class at the nature center where she learned about bluebirds, and other nesting birds.  At the end of class they  built their very own bluebird nest box!

Learning languages...

The girls have recently been interested in learning different languages.  I speak a little spanish, french, and know basic sign language. Georgia wants to learn Brazilian Portuguese, and Olivia wants to learn South American Spanish. I'll have to look up some resources for them, but I wanted to add a couple here so I can find them later...

Natural Disasters

After hearing about the earthquake in Japan yesterday, the girls and I watched some news footage on tv, looked at some videos on the internet, then learned more about natural disasters.

just playing around and practicing different things

Bluebird, Scarlet Tanager, Cardinal, Crow, Redwing Blackbird, and American Goldfinch

I also made the jute piece the vase is sitting on. I soaked it in a glue and water solution and pinned it flat on cardboard to dry.

The birds where fun to make.  I didn't add button eyes yet...and they aren't stuffed.  I think those two things would make them cuter.
